The fragment De praenominibus is probably anonymous, and forms the only extant chapter of a treatise on names. It is appended to Julius Paris' epitome of Valerius Maximus and is ascribed to Paris in some of the manuscripts of Valerius, where it has been substituted for the missing tenth book
